New Book Helps Caregivers Reduce COVID-19 Isolation
S For Story/10437589
Coaching for Caregivers has been widely praised as a must-read resource for caregivers, as well as friends, family, and professionals who work with caregivers.
CARDIFF BY THE SEA, Calif. - s4story -- The revised edition of Yosaif August's Coaching for Caregivers: Reach Out Before You Burn Out, releasing this week through Amazon, is a just-in-time resource for family caregivers during this time of COVID-induced isolation. The book promotes their resiliency and helps them sustain themselves by reaching out for the love and support they and their loved ones need.
Besides the caregivers themselves, it is also a valuable resource for friends, neighbors, professional colleagues, and others who are concerned that caregivers are at risk of burning out but haven't yet found a way to help them. As the author says, "friends don't let friends burn out any more than friends let friends drive drunk."

When speaking about how the book will specifically help caregivers during the coronavirus outbreak, Yosaif states, "It helps break through the isolation that COVID has caused - both in terms of contact and loving connection. It helps caregivers clarify their needs and set up boundaries around privacy needs that need to be respected while care is being offered so that others can better respond to them."
Yosaif August, an award-winning healthcare innovator, life coach, and keynote presenter, left his corporate consulting firm to become a caregiver for his parents and mother-in-law. Yosaif used those personal experiences, as well as conversations with his life coaching clients and through research interviews he conducted, to write Coaching for Caregivers: How to Reach Out Before You Burn Out. He presented the key concepts and tools in this book to caregivers of family members who are paralyzed in a two-year national speaking tour for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation's Caregiver Day Program.

Yosaif explains why his book is different from other caregiver books on the market: "The book is practical in a way that's different than what's usually meant by 'practical.' It helps caregivers clear their minds, shake off the beliefs that get in the way of reaching out, and shows them ways to get into action. Coaching for Caregivers helps caregivers overcome Receiving Deficit Disorder, a 'disorder' that most people have that gets in the way of accepting help from loving friends."
Hal Chapel, CEO and Founder of Lotsa Helping Hands, praises the book, saying, "Yosaif August is quite the caregiving coach. His book provides a thorough compilation of resources for our nation's caregivers. But what makes his book truly tremendous is his focus, not just on how to reach out for help, but on putting caregiver needs first to avoid burnout."
