TACOMA, Wash. - s4story -- There is no shortage of "self-help" books on the market today. The King Manual Vol.1 released on July 1^st on Amazon is one with a twist. It is geared toward African American Men and young men, and the author says he has designed it in a particular way. "I have done extensive research on studies done at Harvard and other Universities on story telling to teach and relay information," says Anthony L. Norman Sr. the author. Norman, a former division one basketball player, gang member, business owner, father of four and 32^nd degree Free Mason, touts his education and life experience as the catalyst for his take on cooperation and leadership. Born in the 70s Norman has experienced what many in the African American community consider the most chaotic time in the community during the Regan administration.  In the 90s, Tacoma Washington where Norman is from was one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. at the time.

Norman uses his experience with gang culture, teams, and business to gather ideal traits for cooperation and leadership. With a degree in Public Administration from Evergreen State College Tacoma he used his research and statistical skills to create a defined way of story telling to impart his message.

The King Manual Vol.1 is 15 chapters of short stories each emphasizing different virtues, lessons, or principle. At the end of each parable the author explains the main theme in plain non-esoteric language. Almost as if to take very weighty concepts and ideas and put them into a light but enjoyable read. Telling a story then explaining "never outshine the master" or "avoid flattery", plainly shows the depth of the author's understanding and the power of this book.
