"Many caring people don't want to become cold or suspicious just because they've been hurt," Gallinger said. "They want to remain loving and generous, but they also need wisdom about who they trust, how much access they give and what patterns they should pay attention to."

The book explores how readers can distinguish between assumed trust and trust demonstrated over time. Gallinger encourages readers to observe behavior, recognize recurring relationship patterns, establish appropriate boundaries and respond with greater discernment rather than allowing past betrayal to push them permanently to the sidelines.
