Ethics & Etiquette in American Business
S For Story/10706031
Somewhere between "mind your manners" and "read the room," an entire generation stopped learning how to treat people. Not because they don't care.
Because nobody showed them how.
Because nobody showed them how.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - s4story -- PRESS RELEASE
LOS ANGELES — Ethics and etiquette expert Phyllis E. Davis released her new book, Oh, Wise Grasshopper...™ Ethics & Etiquette for the Rest of Us, on October 15, 2026.
"Los Angeles Author Says Workplace Respect Must Be Taught Like Any Other Professional Skill."
Phyllis E. Davis, Los Angeles Ethics & Etiquette Expert in American Business, launched her new book offering modern ethics and practical etiquette training. Ms. Davis has more than four decades of experience in American business. She has traveled over three million air miles teaching, speaking and training on the subject of Ethics and Etiquette in Business.
Davis is the author of Oh, Wise Grasshopper...™ Ethics & Etiquette for the Rest of Us. Her book combines warmth, humor, practical instruction, and personal experiences to make the unwritten rules of professional life across five generations understandable and useful.
More on S For Story
Davis presents ethics and etiquette not as outdated rules or ornamental social graces, but as practical professional skills.
Through instruction, personal stories, and the humorous misadventures of an eager Grasshopper navigating business's unwritten rules, the book examines the everyday choices that shape professional reputations.
Topics include handshakes and introductions, listening, small talk, written communication, virtual meetings, business dining, inclusion, organizational hierarchy, ethical leadership, accountability, and difficult conversations.
"Etiquette is respect made visible and unites generations," Davis said. "Every handshake, introduction, email, meeting, and business meal gives us an opportunity to show another person that their presence matters."
Davis began her professional life as a Hollywood actor in the 60s and 70s before building a career teaching ethics, etiquette, communication, and professional conduct. Her work has taken her into corporate boardrooms, national media interviews, training programs, and certification classrooms in the US and globally.
More on S For Story
The book reflects a principle that has guided her work throughout her career: good behavior is a professional skill, not a lost art.
"I wrote this book for every person who has entered a professional room and felt as though everyone else received a rulebook they somehow missed," Davis said. "The Grasshopper is all of us. We learn by paying attention, making mistakes, and choosing to show up better the next time."
Oh, Wise Grasshopper...™ Ethics & Etiquette for the Rest of Us is available in hardcover, paperback, and eBook editions on Amazon.
