New from Down & Out Books: POLITICAL ALLIANCES by G. Miki Hayden
S For Story/10656920
TAMPA, Fla. - s4story -- Down & Out Books is pleased to announce that POLITICAL ALLIANCES, a Florida Thriller by G. Miki Hayden, has been published on April 21, 2025 in trade paperback and ebook formats.
About POLITICAL ALLIANCES …
An old woman admits a young man into her house. He's someone she knows and trusts, but her confidence in him isn't justified.
South Miami horticulturist/journalist Mara Wayne's grandmother has passed away quite suddenly, leaving the family farm to a group called the Children of Jordan. The loss of the property has surprised and upset Mara as the land had always been promised to her.
Mara vows to find out more about the oddball religious cult while on another mission to help a young doctor unhappily involved in an improper kidney harvesting. Then someone stalking her tries to shoot Mara as she strolls through the Everglades.
Never a dull moment in this fast-paced Florida suspense by the author of Dry Bones, a police procedural from Down & Out Books.

"I thought the plot was a lot of fun, but it also makes you think." —Joan Grove, author of five Dell mystery novels.
Meet the author…
G. MIKI HAYDEN's latest crime fiction, Dry Bones, is a police procedural from Down & Out books. Also recent is the third novel in her Rebirth series from Next Chapter. Respiration, just out, follows Rescued and Re-Live, all literary fiction with strong plot and character elements and powerful openings, and all with crime backgrounds. Hayden also recently sold four crime action-adventure novels for electronic serialization, while her first novel in print, Pacific Empire (an alternate history), won a rave in the NYTimes and was on that paper's Summer Reading List. The sequel, New Pacific, was in print in 2004. Other novels of Hayden's in print are By Reason of Insanity (a mystery), Question Woman & Howling Sky (a post-apocalyptic novel set in the West), Strings (a middle-grade fantasy), and The Heroine's Journey (a YA fantasy set in the Middle Ages and our own time). She has had many short stories published, including in Alfred Hitchcock and Ellery Queen and in several Mystery Writers of America anthologies (winning an Edgar for one). She has taught at Writer's Digest University online for more than twenty years.
