NEW RELEASE: King of the Condors: El Rey de los Cóndores by Justin T. O'Conor Sloane
S For Story/10645250
A beautifully illustrated, dual-language children's picture book (English/Spanish)!
AUSTIN, Texas - s4story -- King of the Condors: El Rey de los Cóndores is a beautifully illustrated, dual-language children's picture book (English/Spanish) written in the style of a traditional folktale that adults will enjoy reading too! Written by Justin T. O'Conor Sloane, with illustrations by Stephanie Suter, and translated into Spanish by Ana Ximena Cardoso Montero.
From Ecuador, high in the Andes Mountains of South America, comes the legend of the King of the Condors.
Desde el Ecuador, muy arriba en las montañas de los Andes en América del Sur, viene la leyenda del Rey de los Cóndores.
This original story is about a child who wanders away from his village during a snowstorm in the Andes of Ecuador, not to be seen again until many years later, riding atop a magnificent condor and bearing gifts of sustenance for the villagers.
Bringing this story to life is the utterly exquisite and sumptuous artwork of Stephanie Suter, a splendidly talented and accomplished Swiss artist who lives in Cuenca, Ecuador.
More on S For Story
Stephanie works in multiple mediums and is deeply immersed in the outrageously vibrant arts and culture of Cuenca, Ecuador's third largest city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Spanish Colonial architecture and ancient Inca ruins exist side by side in a city that is sometimes called the Athens of the Andes and the City of Cathedrals.
King of the Condors is a beautiful and durable work of art in book form, as all books should aspire to be — especially children's picture books. In a square book format for optimal presentation of Stephanie's exceptional ink on silk illustrations, with a glossy hardcover and published on 70lb premium color paper, this book emphasizes the highest aesthetics of artistic quality in its production.
