One Man Becomes a Prison Doctor to Avenge his Father in Cohoon's New Medical Drama
S For Story/10428492
James B. Cohoon's compelling new medical drama, "Do No Harm", the first title in the three-part series, will be released June 29.
LOS ANGELES - s4story -- Cohoon creates a gripping story about a doctor's struggle to seek justice or healing. Do No Harm will appeal to those who enjoy reading medical dramas, especially those that involve complicated questions about medical ethics, the #metoo movement, the implications of vigilante justice, and how one person can be swept up in the unthinkable by another. By combining a gripping plot with a cast of unforgettable characters, Cohoon creates a thrilling story with heart.
About the Book: When Matthew Preston was eight, his father was shot and killed in rarefield Pacific Palisades by Ted Nash, a home burglar who happened to be the Prestons' neighbor. Nash was sentenced to life in San Quentin, and Matthew's lifelong obsession is to infiltrate the prison, gain access to Nash, and exact the ultimate personal revenge. He devises a plan to become a prison doctor to reach his greatest enemy. While in medical school, Matthew falls for brilliant classmate Torrey Jamison from poverty-stricken East Palo Alto. Torrey is battling her own demons, having faced sexual abuse by a school counselor while in high school. Matthew is focused on vigilantism; but he loves Torrey who is morally opposed to killing for any reason—or so she thinks.

About James Cohoon: James Cohoon was the president of a Los Angeles based law firm until his early retirement in 2014. As a civil litigation lawyer for over 30 years, he frequently lectured and published legal articles. His daily work included writing legal briefs and documents for judges and other lawyers which were, in essence, 'stories' to fit the facts of each of his hundreds of legal cases. He resides in California with his high-school sweetheart, Rozanne, with whom he has two children—Kristin, a lawyer who is now a stay-at-home mother, and Travis, a doctor. His passions include sighting Orca whales, playing bridge, and mowing the lawn.
