ST. PAUL, Minn. - s4story -- SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Planting People Growing Justice™ Leadership Institute
(PPGJLI) will honor nine outstanding individuals with its Excellence in Education
Awards during the organization's 9th Anniversary Fundraising Celebration on Friday,
October 17, 2025, from 8–9 a.m. at Springboard for the Arts (262 University Ave W,
Saint Paul, MN 55103).
Created to recognize the many contributions of leaders within the community, the
Excellence in Education Awards celebrate those whose work exemplifies PPGJLI's
mission of planting seeds of social change through youth literacy, leadership, and
advocacy.
This year's honorees are:

Founded by Dr. Artika Tyner, PPGJLI continues to inspire, equip, and foster future
leaders through school visits, arts and humanities programming, youth writing
competitions, read-aloud events, book giveaways, and STEAM leadership education.
Since its inception, PPGJLI has:
 Inspired 8,099 students
 Donated more than 39,394 diverse and multicultural books
 Reached 30,000+ read-aloud listeners

 Trained 66 authors and celebrated the publication of 9 books
The 9th Anniversary Fundraiser has a goal of raising $120,000 to support and expand
