Excellence in Education Awards to take place during 9th Anniversary Celebration
ST. PAUL, Minn. - s4story -- SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Planting People Growing Justice™ Leadership Institute
(PPGJLI) will honor nine outstanding individuals with its Excellence in Education
Awards during the organization's 9th Anniversary Fundraising Celebration on Friday,
October 17, 2025, from 8–9 a.m. at Springboard for the Arts (262 University Ave W,
Saint Paul, MN 55103).
Created to recognize the many contributions of leaders within the community, the
Excellence in Education Awards celebrate those whose work exemplifies PPGJLI's
mission of planting seeds of social change through youth literacy, leadership, and
advocacy.
This year's honorees are:
Marvin Anderson, Rondo Center of Diverse Expression
Mary K. Boyd, MKB and Associates
Bruce P. Corrie, PhD, Concordia University
Emo Ismail, Capital One
Debbie Montgomery, St. Paul Police Department, retired

Donated more than 39,394 diverse and multicultural books
Reached 30,000+ read-aloud listeners
Trained 66 authors and celebrated the publication of 9 books
The 9th Anniversary Fundraiser has a goal of raising $120,000 to support and expand
