S For Story/10707099
Nigerian poet, journalist, and photographer Wardah Abbas brings her distinctive literary voice to Ink & Echo through an original work presented in both written poetry and spoken-word performance.
VERNON, N.J. - s4story -- Pyrrhic Press Publishing, LLC is pleased to announce the inclusion of Nigerian poet, journalist, and photographer Wardah Abbas in its Ink & Echo literary initiative with her original work, Hoomins and Other, authored on October 29, 2026.
The submission includes both a written poem and a recorded spoken-word performance, offering audiences two ways to experience Abbas's creative expression.
Ink & Echo, an initiative of Pyrrhic Press Publishing, celebrates poetry as both a written art form and a spoken experience, providing poets and performers with opportunities to share their original work with an international audience.
A Literary Voice Exploring Identity, Culture, and Human Experience
Wardah Abbas is a Nigerian poet, journalist, and photographer whose creative work exists somewhere between what she describes as "sweet whimsy and political rage."
More on S For Story
Her writing explores the intersections of faith, gender, culture, identity, and emotional healing, drawing on both personal reflection and broader social experiences.
After spending several years concentrating on social justice writing, Abbas returned to poetry in 2023, reconnecting with a creative practice that had remained largely unexplored during that period.
Her essays and poetry have appeared in literary publications including The Republic, Brittle Paper, The Garfield Lake Review, and Pepper Coast Magazine, as well as the Penguin Random House anthology The Ordinary Chaos of Being Human.
"Hoomins and Other": Poetry Beyond the Written Page
With Hoomins and Other, Abbas contributes an original literary work to Ink & Echo in both written and performed formats.
By presenting poetry in these two mediums, the initiative enables readers to engage directly with the written language while allowing listeners to experience the rhythm, voice, and interpretation of the poet.

The dual-format presentation reflects Ink & Echo's commitment to recognizing poetry not only as literature to be read but also as an artistic experience to be heard.
Expanding Access to Contemporary Poetry
Participation is free, reflecting Pyrrhic Press Publishing's broader commitment to expanding access to creative and scholarly expression without imposing submission or publication fees.
The inclusion of Wardah Abbas represents another step in the initiative's development as a platform for emerging and established literary voices.
