ST. PAUL, Minn. - s4story -- The results of the 20th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business have been announced. St. Paul's own Dr. Artika R. Tyner has been chosen as a Gold Stevie® Award winner in the category of Female Executive of the Year – Government or Non-Profit, with less than 10 employees. Official ceremonies were held on Friday, Nov. 10 in New York, NY.
The highly coveted Stevie® Award is renowned as the world's top honor for women in the workplace. It recognizes innovation in the workplace, in all its many forms, across 18 nations. More than 400 entrepreneurs, executives and employees gathered for the presentation event.
Tyner is the founder of Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI). The non-profit organization is committed to increasing childhood literacy rates, helping youngsters learn the joy of reading, and inspiring youth that will be the leaders of the future. Judges of the Stevie® Award commended Tyner and PPGJLI on its commitment to addressing the literacy gap.

Minnesota has one of the nation's widest gaps in reading scores between white and non-white students. Tyner's initiatives are designed to target this discrepancy directly and have proven effective in bridging the literacy gap through diverse books and multiple reading programs.
Tyner's involvement in the community has impacted countless lives. Her efforts are helping the community connect with their cultural heritage and fostering a sense of cohesiveness. Her background as a civil rights attorney gives her a unique perspective. Her leadership abilities, commitment to education and social justice are evident in all she accomplishes.
Tyner has an impressive range of achievements and the premier Stevie® Award (https://stevieawards.com/) for Women in Business places her in rarified company. It's a measure of her innovative approach and success with PPGJLI (https://www.ppgjli.org/) toward bettering the lives of children now, providing them with the tools to dream and achieve a better future.
