WASHINGTON - s4story -- Gallant Fox Press has released the second book in Maryland author Kristen Casey's new "Triple Threat" series, which follows three friends in Manhattan and the intriguing women that snare their hearts. Like Casey's other titles, THE DOCTOR WAS DARK is a steamy, hard-to-put-down contemporary romance, full of her usual brand of keen dialogue and relatable characters.

THE DOCTOR WAS DARK is set in Florence, Italy, and New York City, and follows hero Luca Delledonna as he treats, and then begins dating, an American boarder at his grandmother's pensione. Both the doctor and his new flame Daisy assume the relationship will be a casual, temporary one, but each develops deeper feelings than expected.

However, once Daisy returns to her home in New York and cuts off contact, Luca realizes he should never have let her go so easily. A year later in Manhattan, he finds her again, working at the publishing company of his old friend. Luca attempts to rekindle their ardor, only to discover that they both obscured important details about themselves the year before.

Little by little, Daisy and Luca reveal more of their true selves to each other, and a tentative trust takes hold. But when a patient emergency causes Luca to break his promises to Daisy, he must employ his best bedside manner to heal the rift and win her back. Their happy ending is heartfelt and emotional and underscores the notion that love is always the best medicine.

Other titles in the TRIPLE THREAT series include THE TITAN WAS TALL, which released in April of 2019; and THE HERO WAS HANDSOME, due out in late 2019.
