Roswell Native Creates Award Winning Short Film In Midst of Lock Down
S For Story/10449930
All female-driven short film brings laughter to film festivals during Covid-19.
ROSWELL, Ga. - s4story -- Roswell native Macie Connor and Acworth native Shea Allen have found a way to laugh through the pandemic with their award winning comedy short film, Safe Space.
Safe Space drops you into the middle of an all-out fight between John and Karen, a married couple with lots of skeletons in their closet. Through their bizarre argument in an unexpected place, John and Karen eventually find a renewed love affair and passion for life. Safe Space is a female-driven production with Connor as the writer, producer and star and Allen as the director and editor of the film through her company, Rage and Crow Productions. The film also stars Jay Plyburn as John and Steve Beville as Dr. Tomas.
"Safe Space was born out of a need to make something fun and creative during the lockdown of Covid 19," says Connor. "I found myself needing to laugh and bring some fun back during this uncertain time. Creating something with friends, fellow actors and creatives was exactly what we all needed. To have it win these awards is simply an added bonus. We really just made it for us, but are thrilled that others are loving it as much as we do!".

Safe Space has garnered international attention and has won multiple awards for Connor and Allen, including the prestigious "Women In Film" award.
Although their passion is film, Connor and Allen actually met on the stage where they were both performing in Pippin. Connor found her love of acting through the stage and has performed at both the collegiate and professional level. She has a degree in Vocal Music and is the owner of Macie Connor School of Music, where she teaches piano, voice and acting lessons. Allen got her start in the news industry and continues to bring her passion for story-telling through her company Rage and Crow Productions.
