Sanctuary: Decagon Gallery Invites Photographers to Explore the Meaning of Refuge

S For Story/10675383
Spaces of refuge, moments of renewal. Cash Awards, Solo Exhibition, Global Exposure

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - s4story -- Decagon Gallery announces an international call for entries for Sanctuary, an online photography exhibition exploring the universal human desire for refuge, rest, and renewal. Photographers are invited to submit works that interpret sanctuary as both a literal and emotional space—whether found in nature, architecture, or within the quiet boundaries of the self.

Inspired by Maya Angelou's timeless reflection, "The ache for home lives in all of us," the exhibition seeks images that reveal where we turn when we need protection or peace. Sanctuary will be juried by artist Ovidiu Petca is an acclaimed Romanian artist and curator, with 600+ exhibitions worldwide and a history of organizing international art biennials.

Selected photographs will be presented in an online exhibition on Decagon Gallery's website beginning December 15, 2025, accompanied by a digital catalog and short video presentation. Awards will include a $300 first prize, $200 second prize, $100 third prize, and a solo feature exhibition for the top photographer.
