Short film INDELIBLE is a chic sensory puzzle

NEW YORK - s4story -- INDELIBLE, a striking new short film by director Samantha Hinds, debuts at Art of Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on February 15, 2026 at 8 PM.

Drawing on allegories of alchemic practice, INDELIBLE is a rhythmic visual poem that juxtaposes starkly ironic Northern European dialects with the courtly splendor of 14th century French banquet culture. Protagonists in slips and smoking jackets emerge from Brutalist rooms to graze on silver trays of trompe d'oeil confections while a dangerous surrealist parlor game unfurls.

Riffing on influences including Jorodowsky's HOLY MOUNTAIN and Fassbinder's CHINESE ROULETTE, set changes are vividly colorful as cast members wrestle, argue, and enter a trance. The incantatory drone soundtrack of INDELIBLE surges as an intruder threatens to pollute the delicate process of transformation–and spoil the meal.

"I am moved by the logic of comedies of manners and television noir as much as I am by more esoteric visual ideas," said Hinds. "The tension of this piece was inspired by a strange night I had trapped at dinner in a near-stranger's French country house one winter."

The film's cast includes Solveig Koch, Curt Wedeman, Reina du Lac, and Daniel Copper.
