Returning resort tradition joins themed pool days, trivia nights and more family activities

SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - s4story -- A beloved South Seas tradition is back. The resort has brought back Scout About, its popular resort-wide scavenger hunt, inviting families to explore the island in a whole new way. A longtime guest favorite before Hurricane Ian, the returning program leads adventurers of all ages on a journey of discovery across the resort's 330 acres of natural beauty and anchors a full lineup of family-friendly activities perfect for making the most of end-of-summer vacations.

Bringing Captiva's incredible wildlife to life, Scout About challenges families to pick up a map, explore stops throughout the resort and collect all 11 wildlife wristbands while discovering fun facts along the way. The resort-wide scavenger hunt is available exclusively to registered South Seas guests and members of Club Captiva.

"Scout About has been a cherished part of the South Seas experience for generations of families, and bringing it back is a meaningful milestone for our resort community," said Shawn Farrell, general manager at South Seas. "Families tell us their favorite vacation memories are the ones they make together, and there's a friendly race to see who can be the first to collect all 11 wristbands. It gets kids outside, exploring nature and learning about this special place while having a blast doing it."

The scavenger hunt joins a full slate of summer programming designed with families in mind. Guests at South Seas can not only enjoy Scout About but also enjoy daily family friendly activities hosted by the South Seas Recreation Team, including Build a Beach Buddy, windchimes, sand art and more.

With pristine beaches, resort pools and waterslides, water sports and wildlife encounters around every corner, South Seas offers families an unforgettable way to close out the summer season before heading back to school.
