The YMCA also served 1,265 young scholars in summer and afterschool programs at no cost, achieving an average growth of 1.5 months in literacy and math.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - s4story -- The Southeast Ventura County YMCA and its two branches, the Simi Valley Family YMCA and Yarrow Family YMCA (in Westlake Village), served 34,084 people and provided $439,797 in financial scholarships, part of a wide range of support programs undertaken by the YMCA in 2025.
"Our financial assistance program ensures everyone has access to after-school care, swim lessons, youth programming and facility memberships regardless of income status," says Ronnie Stone, Southeast Ventura County YMCA president and CEO. "From these foundational YMCA programs to our community outreach, we remain dedicated to changing lives and fostering growth in every generation we serve."
Other 2025 service highlights include:
Disaster Relief - Distributed $948,000 through California Strong to 948 families affected by the Mountain, Palisades and Eaton Fires. Additionally, the YMCA's supply shopping events attracted over 3,000 people in need.

Safety Around Water – Empowered over 1,000 youth with life-saving skills and confidence in and around water at no cost. In 2025, the YMCA partnered with Simi Valley Unified School District to provide the program to every 3rd grade student in Simi Valley during the 2025-26 school year.
Support Drives – The YMCA provided prom clothes to 700 teens, Thanksgiving meals to 345 families, 575 backpacks and school supplies to 575 students and toys during the holidays to 160 families.
Also in 2025, the YMCA expanded accessible programming through partnerships with Tri-Counties Regional Center (https://www.tri-counties.org/) and PathPoint (https://www.pathpoint.org/).
"Our over 800 volunteers, board directors, donors and partners enable the YMCA to make a significant impact on our community," says Stone. "Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant future."
