Spokane: Flags Lowered for Representative Frank Chopp

S For Story/10661050
~ Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has ordered all flags at City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in honor of former Speaker of the House and State Representative Frank Chopp. This directive follows Governor Bob Ferguson's announcement that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities will also be lowered.

Chopp, who passed away on March 22, 2025, was Washington's longest-serving Speaker of the House and a close friend and colleague of Mayor Brown. She expressed her sadness at his passing and praised his dedication to issues such as housing and healthcare.
