Teens Fight Vampires, Find Love in "Knight and Daye"
S For Story/10498419
CORDOVA, Tenn. - s4story -- Daniel Reece's young adult paranormal novel Knight and Daye (TouchPoint Press, October 25, 2021) tells an action-packed tale of young love, self-discovery, and vampires.
Incorporating exciting fight scenes and plot twists with the thrill of young love and the challenges of finding one's place in the world, Knight and Daye will appeal to YA readers broadly. Its vampiric theme speaks to the real-life challenges its characters face; as Reece puts it, "In Brianna, being forced to live her claustrophobic life, she had to deal with the vulnerability of vampires without any benefits. For Donovan, it was the double metaphor of not wanting only wanting to not be a part of the worlds of the wealthy elite and vampires, but actively fighting against those worlds."
About the Book
Knight and Daye is the story of 17-year-old Donovan Daye, jaded heir to a wealthy family that has just moved to the town of North Easton. Things take a turn for the better when Donovan befriends his strange neighbor, Brianna Knight. After a young girl is found murdered with bite marks on her neck, Donovan suspects that his new best friend, Brianna Knight, might be a vampire. After learning that Brianna suffers from XP, a disease which prevents her from being in sunlight, Donovan and Brianna join forces to fight the real threat: Donovan's own family, who are vampire elite. Donovan discovers the truth about himself, his family and the sinister plans they have for him.
