The Attorney Who Wrote Maryland's DUI Law Treatise Joins Scrofano Law PC
S For Story/10699870
ROCKVILLE, Md. - s4story -- Leonard R. Stamm, author of the definitive Maryland DUI Law treatise — the leading reference for Maryland DUI practitioners and has been cited by Maryland appellate courts — joins the firm as Of Counsel and will collaborate on complex impaired driving cases throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Scrofano Law PC, a criminal defense firm serving Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland, announced today that Leonard R. Stamm has joined the firm as Of Counsel.
The addition of Stamm significantly expands Scrofano Law's Maryland DUI practice and provides clients with direct access to one of the state's most recognized authorities on impaired driving litigation. The move also strengthens the firm's ability to defend complex criminal and DUI cases.
Stamm has defended DUI, vehicular, and serious criminal cases for more than 40 years. He is the author of Maryland DUI Law, the West/Thomson Reuters treatise he has updated annually since its first edition in 2008, and has served as Dean of the National College for DUI Defense and as President of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys' Association. He has also co-authored amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court in three landmark DUI cases — Bullcoming v. New Mexico, Missouri v. McNeely, and Birchfield v. North Dakota — addressing issues including forensic laboratory testimony, warrantless blood draws, and chemical test refusals. His work has been recognized with an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a 10.0 "Superb" rating from Avvo, and recognition as a Best Lawyer in DUI/DWI defense in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

"There are very few attorneys whose work has shaped how an entire area of law is practiced. Lenny is one of them." Said Joseph Scrofano (https://www.scrofanolaw.com/joseph-a-scrofano/), owner of Scrofano Law PC. "His experience gives our clients access to one of the most respected DUI lawyers in Maryland and across the country."
"The clients who need experienced counsel the most are often the ones facing the most difficult cases. Those are the cases I've spent my career handling," said Leonard Stamm (https://www.lstamm.com/), "and I'm looking forward to bringing that experience to Scrofano Law PC."
