Colorado Springs, CO The Colorado Phoenix Project a nonprofit dedicated to empowering foster kids and orphans, proudly hosted its first inaugural gala on June 29 at Lumen8. The event, aimed at raising funds for "Camp Kid Confidence," exceeded expectations with over-capacity attendance and remarkable contributions from the community.
Fundraiser Highlights:
"Camp Kid Confidence" is a transformative program designed to equip foster children and orphans with essential life skills as they prepare to transition out of the foster care system. The camp will focus on fundamental financial knowledge, life skills such as applying for jobs and doing taxes, and resilience training, providing participants with the tools and confidence needed to thrive as independent adults.

A highlight of the gala was the release of the first book by B.T. Cox, titled An Orphan's Tale. The book has received an endorsement from Ziglar, Inc. Tom Ziglar, CEO of Ziglar, Inc., and proud son of Zig Ziglar, praised the book, saying, "This book shines a difficult light on what far too many orphans experience. I am grateful that this book brings awareness to the needs so many are facing, and I'm convinced those who've never known this segment of our society can relate and choose to make a difference."

Additionally, the main auction item of the evening was a painting by newcomer local artist Anastasia Wilkinson, featuring the book cover of An Orphan's Tale nested into a background inspired by childhood memories of The Orphan. The painting sold for an impressive $5,000.
