The Homesteaders Had It Right All Along

GRAY, Tenn. - s4story -- Now that the U.S. Department of Education has approved over $10 billion in debt relief through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (www.ed.gov), the homeschooling community is left wondering how this will affect them. Many U.S. states currently require homeschooling families to pay taxes for public school services in their communities, even when these services are not used. Now, they will be forced to pay debt relief for college loans, while still scrambling to find the means to pay for their own child's college tuition.
John Lovell of The Warrior Poet Society expressed his concern recently on his YouTube channel of 1.3 million subscribers by asking the American people, "At what point will the taxpayers say, 'I'm not giving you another dollar for that'?" Lovell does not make this statement to encourage this behavior, but as a war veteran and a former member of Special Operations, having served on numerous combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Lovell aims to share what he believes could be ahead.

Lovell, along with other popular YouTubers among the homeschooling community, will be presenting at the 2022 Homesteaders of America Conference in Front Royal, Virginia, on October 6–7 to encourage Americans to be on the offensive rather than the defensive as the country experiences inflation. Families will learn how to preserve food, raise livestock, and protect their homesteads. Jill Winger of The Prairie Homestead will teach families to ride out the present economic times gracefully. Joel and Daniel Salatin, Justin Rhodes, and other successful homesteaders will teach, train, and share their wisdom.
After the successful 2021 event, families were eager to sign up for 2022. Tickets sold out by the end of June.
"We are so grateful to be a sponsor of this event and to direct homeschooling families to the resources they need," says Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. "If anyone attending has any questions about homeschooling, please look for the TryHomeschooling.com booth and our staff will happily answer your questions."
