Representatives from the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and The City of Winter Springs attended the event
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. - s4story -- The Watermark at Vistawilla, a sophisticated assisted living and memory care community located on E. State Road 434 in Winter Springs, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with The Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce on August 22. More than 100 guests attended the ceremony.
The community, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, has 87 apartments for rent with a number of unique floor plans and sizes. It will be home to up to 99 local seniors when fully occupied. On-site amenities include lush gardens and nature paths, café, wellness center, state-of-the-art movie theater, beauty salon and barbershop.
"We're thrilled to officially celebrate our opening with the support of the Winter Springs community," said David Goldsmith, executive director of The Watermark at Vistawilla. "Over the past year, our residents have settled in and made The Watermark at Vistawilla home. This event was a celebration of all that we've accomplished and all that is to come for current and future residents."

In attendance were Winter Springs Deputy Mayor and District Two Commissioner Kevin Cannon, District Three Commissioner Ted Johnson, and District Four Commissioner TiAnna Hale. Local business owners, Winter Springs residents and residents of The Watermark at Vistawilla also attended. During the event, The Watermark at Vistawilla raised more than $1,000 for the Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center through various raffles and fundraising efforts.
Unique to The Watermark at Vistawilla is Gourmet Bites Cuisine, an innovative dining program that transforms items from traditional menus into nutritional, visually pleasing and easily hand-held portions. This specialized menu is enhancing independence and restoring the joy of dining for residents with cognitive, physical or neuromuscular challenges.
The community also offers unique, engaging fitness and educational programming through its dozens of Watermark University classes, as well as full-day and overnight outings through its Extraordinary Outings program.
"We take a unique people-first approach to assisted living and memory care," said Goldsmith. "Each program, outing and meal is designed with the resident in mind, with the overall goal of creating an environment where residents thrive. In our short time being open, we have seen the positive effects of this firsthand."
