MILLER LAKE, Ontario - s4story -- In Canada, an estimated 8,200 people are diagnosed with thyroid cancer every year. Author of the beloved Rabbit & Bear series, Tara Shannon, is no stranger to this disease. She is releasing her newest book Look for Me during Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month.

Look for Me, an illustrated book, appropriate for both children and adults, deals with loss, which is something Tara knows all too well. She has faced the loss of her parents, divorce, miscarriage, loss of her career, her identity, and so much more.

During Covid, Tara's posted an image of her line drawn characters Rabbit & Bear that went viral, resonating with millions of people. This launched her career as a writer. Look for Me is her third book in the Rabbit & Bear series.

On September 28, 2024, Tara will be celebrating the release of her new book at a retreat hosted by Wild by Nature Forest Sanctuary in Miller Lake, Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. Besides guided forest bathing, restorative yoga, and creative expression with log-slice painting, Tara will be offering curated readings from her books, guiding participants through creative journalling, and setting inspired intentions for personal growth and reflection.
