Time to KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' - An Art Book Made for Women, by Women
S For Story/10449816
NEW YORK - s4story -- The stunning art book KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' intertwines art from Vivienne Boucherat with the creative voices of Cindy DaSilva, a New Jersey-based artist manager, and Rene Harbison, the head of a Texas-based production and consulting firm. Vivienne Boucherat, a visual artist and musician from London, conceptualizes what crazy means to her by unleashing her inner madwoman within the confines of over sixty pieces. The picture book is set to be published worldwide on December 15th.
With the intention to make 'crazy' less crazy, KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' highlights the necessity for everyone to embrace their inner madwomen— regardless of their perceived shapes and sizes. Moments in our lives can be challenging, joyful, tragic, and frankly, a little crazy. Everyone has encountered the burden of worrying whether they are measuring up to expectations or the restlessness of overcoming a whopping to-do list. Regardless of how people internalize these negative feelings and thoughts, it can be difficult to interpret these experiences ourselves. Vivienne thus blends paper cutouts, watercolors, inks, and printmaking within the art reproductions of this book to remind us that our individual crazy is a shared, relatable experience.

The book KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' was inspired by Cindy's visit to Vivienne's studio in London. As they perused through Vivienne's collection, Cindy was immediately captivated by a piece depicting a woman overwhelmed by her bad hair day. This piece would soon become the book's cover, setting the theme of people becoming acquainted with their inner madwomen. With the help of Rene, the team of three decided to dedicate themselves to bringing KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' to life.
The art book is a collaboration between bright, artistic, and empowered women, who strive to showcase the female perspective. Still, readers do not have to solely identify as female to benefit from the book's message, as there is something for everyone that can be discovered. Brimming with artwork that is bound to release tears and laughter, KNOW YOUR 'CRAZy' ultimately creates solidarity among all through encouraging others to identify, own, and then overcome their crazy times.
"For me personally, the images are every woman, and no woman at all. They're a universal statement to women around the world and I was easily able to insert myself into each one of them," says Cindy DaSilva, "The art gave light to my dark and life to my feelings. I hope it will do the same for you."
