Tokyo Express Invests in Alberta's Future with a $9.99 Student Meal Deal
S For Story/10703670
Record numbers of students are using Edmonton and campus food banks
EDMONTON, Alberta - s4story -- For 30 years, Tokyo Express has been part of this community's fabric. We've watched generations of Albertans grow up eating our bowls. Now, we're investing in the next generation.
Starting immediately, Tokyo Express is offering a $9.99 Student Meal to every student with a valid campus or university ID at all locations across Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and St. Albert.
The offer is simple. Students choose beef, chicken, or veggie—paired with fresh rice, vegetables, and protein. Portions are large enough to share or stretch into two meals. Because we believe quality nutrition shouldn't be a barrier to academic success.
"Quality nutrition shouldn't be a luxury," says Masti Agarwalla, owner of Tokyo Express. "Our student pricing makes it an affordable, everyday choice. We have been part of the Edmonton community for 30 years. Supporting students isn't just good business—it's the right thing to do. If we can help them eat well and study better, that's a win for all of us in this community."

Why This Matters
While local food banks report increased demand from students navigating tight budgets, Tokyo Express is taking direct action. This isn't a donation program—it's an investment.
Students represent Alberta's future talent, future entrepreneurs, future community leaders. When they can focus on learning instead of worrying about food, everyone wins.
