Upcycle Pop returns with its Sustainable Holiday Event. Art Exhibits, Performances and a Fashion Show
S For Story/10401811
A one day only event showcasing over 40 vendors and artist demos, a fashion show, two art exhibits and multiple surprise performances along with a panel discussion, drawing into Sacramento visitors from San Jose, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and Tahoe.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - s4story -- The Upcycle Pop, interactive holiday event is a blend of a market, art show, and party combined. The zero-waste event creates a unique festive cheer with its sustainable holiday shopping extravaganza and draws in a crowd.
On Sunday, December 15, 2019 guests are invited to explore, play and shop sustainably from over 40 eco-friendly creative vendors and artists. Discover numerous live performances sprinkled throughout the event, watch artist demos, experience an intimate fashion show, creation station for kids, panel discussion and two art exhibits. All beverages go towards supporting two local non-profits: The Atrium and Sacramento Valley Spark.

The art gallery will host two art exhibits: 'Carts for the Arts' - a collection from various artists dedicated to highlighting the tsunami of waste generated from single-use vape cartridges, batteries, and packaging currently produced in the cannabis industry. The second exhibit is Cognitive Dissonance - Be the Change, a delightful sculptural installation by Linda Gelfman, with a soft sculpture and total tactile immersion of dancing figures.
This make-and-sell holiday market event pushes forward the importance of moving towards a circular economy. With current convenience and consumer habits escalating climate change, this event is about making a difference.
"We are in the midst of a suicidal consumption of our age," Shira Lane, Upcycle Pop & Atrium Executive Director. "We are drowning in our convenience addiction and the holidays are when it goes into overdrive. Lane said. "Supporting local ethical artists and makers is one of the best things you can do to support a change. When more people learn about circular economy opportunities, the faster we can get there."
The event is free and open to the public with free parking.
