DONCASTER, U.K. - s4story -- Commercial Virtual Studio AV Installation in Doncaster

Definition Audio Visual has recently completed a commercial virtual studio installation in Doncaster, providing The Dome with a professional audio visual system designed to deliver virtual fitness classes and on-demand content.

The installation combines a high-brightness laser projector, large motorised projection screen, professional commercial sound system and simple user controls, creating a flexible virtual studio solution for scheduled and on-demand classes.

Epson Laser Projector and 202" Projection Screen

As part of the AV installation in Doncaster, we installed an Epson 13,000-lumen WUXGA laser projector, securely mounted from the existing steel girder structure.

The projector displays virtual fitness content onto a large Sapphire 202-inch motorised projection screen, providing a clear and immersive viewing experience for studio users.

A screen trigger has also been installed to provide automatic operation of the motorised projection screen when the system is switched on.

Professional Sound System Installation

For the studio audio system, we installed four Optimal Audio Cuboid 10 loudspeakers, mounted using Powerdrive wall-mount brackets.

The speakers provide even coverage throughout the virtual studio, allowing instructors and participants to clearly hear the virtual classes and audio content.

The equipment is powered and controlled from a wall-mounted rack cabinet containing:

• Cloud single-zone mixer
• Crown XLi 2500 stereo power amplifier
• Cloud BT2 Bluetooth wall connection plate
• Cloud RSL6 source selection and volume control
• Professional audio distribution and connection equipment

This provides a straightforward and reliable audio system suitable for regular commercial use.

Fitbox Virtual Fitness System

The virtual studio has been equipped with a Fitbox virtual player, allowing the venue to deliver virtual classes directly through the large projection system.

The Fitbox player connects to the Epson projector using a Bluestream HDMI over CAT6 sender and receiver system, providing reliable transmission of the high-definition video signal between the equipment rack and projector.

We also installed RS232 over CAT5 transmission equipment to provide projector control from the equipment cabinet.

iPad Control for On-Demand and Scheduled Classes

To make the virtual studio simple for staff to operate, we installed an 11-inch iPad in a secure wall-mounted housing next to the equipment cabinet.

The iPad provides convenient access to the virtual class system, allowing users to select on-demand fitness classes or schedule classes to run at specific times throughout the day.

The result is a flexible virtual studio that can be operated with minimal technical input from staff.
