Waukesha Choral Union Presents "Choose Something Like a Star"
S For Story/10678409
Celebrate the Season with a Waukesha Choral Union Christmas concert- this year, it's a Celestial Celebration of the Season
WAUKESHA, Wis. - s4story -- The Waukesha Choral Union invites audiences to "Choose Something Like a Star" this holiday season with two enchanting winter performances filled with poetry, beauty, and festive warmth. Concerts will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha, and Friday, December 20 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brookfield.
This year's program takes its name from Robert Frost's beloved poem and features Randall Thompson's masterwork Frostiana — a portrait of small-town America through Frost's eyes, including favorites like "The Road Not Taken." Audiences will also be treated to vibrant American shape-note hymns and spirituals, elegant classical works by Brazilian composer José Maurício Nunes Garcia, and a selection of Christmas favorites that capture the joy and reflection of the season.

Adding to the festivities, attendees can explore a holiday market before and after the concert, perfect for finding last-minute gifts from local artisans and vendors such as Plowshare Fair Trade Marketplace and Retzer Nature Center.
In a nod to the concert's celestial theme, the Waukesha Choral Union is also hosting a special giveaway: one lucky attendee at each concert will win a five-pack of tickets to the Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium—a stellar prize for an evening that celebrates the beauty of the stars, both in the sky and in song.
