Wilson Venture Capital to Launch News Organization; Will Name Trevor Wilson CEO
S For Story/10704337
PITTSBURGH - s4story -- Wilson Venture Capital, LLC announced today that it will launch Gavel, a news organization dedicated to reporting on lawsuits and the people behind them, on November 7, 2026. Trevor Wilson, the firm's executive advisor and former managing partner, will serve as Gavel's CEO, leading its operations, editorial direction, and growth.
Gavel will cover cases filed in courts nationwide, turning dense legal filings into clear, entertaining stories readers can easily follow. Coverage will span disputes involving individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and communities. Each article will explain who is involved, what is alleged, and why the case matters, in everyday, entertaining language.
"Americans have a right to know what is happening in their courts and why," Wilson said. "Court filings are full of legal language that keeps a lot of great stories out of public view. We want to change that. Our goal is to make lawsuits easy to understand and genuinely entertaining to read."
Gavel's editorial principle is that a lawsuit is not a verdict and an allegation is not a finding of wrongdoing. The organization will not decide who is right or wrong, but rather will report on what is alleged, clearly and accurately, and leave conclusions to readers. "Behind every case number is a person who believes they were wronged and is asking to be heard," Wilson said. "If someone is willing to take their story into a courtroom, it is a story worth paying attention to."

As one of his first acts as CEO, Wilson plans to onboard a close friend, Rylee Douglas, as the new venture's Regional Director of Advertising Partnerships. Douglas is based in South Carolina's Upstate, where the booming I-85 corridor is expected to be an important advertising market. Wilson described Douglas as highly motivated and charismatic, qualities he says will help Gavel build a sustainable business. "Gavel needs to be monetized to stay afloat, and I am confident that Rylee is the right person to help us do that," Wilson said.
"I'm very excited to be a part of Gavel's journey," Douglas said. "The entire team has been working incredibly hard to bring this release to life, and it's been exciting to see all of that hard work come together. I'm proud to be a part of this process and can't wait to finally share Gavel with the world."
Wilson Venture Capital will release Gavel's domain name to the public via social media on November 7, 2026.
