CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Nov. 8, 2018 - s4story -- Joseph Goodrich debuts his first picture book, Ellie and Her Emotional Dragons, a story about a young elephant girl whose family's move to a new house propels her into emotional turmoil. Luckily, she has the help of four very special friends: her brightly colored "emotional dragons," who emerge from her closet in moments of crisis to teach her valuable strategies for understanding and dealing with her emotions.

When Ellie hears scary noises, green dragon Naz encourages her to stand up to her fears. When Ellie's father leaves for work, blue dragon Nali helps distract her from her sadness. When a potential new friend accidentally rips Ellie's picture, red dragon Tully leads Ellie in taking deep breaths to calm her anger. Finally, yellow dragon Hani does a happy dance with Ellie when all is well at the end of the day.
