55% of South Florida Personal Injury Firms Are Never Named by AI Assistants, CitationOS Index Finds
S For Story/10704926
Edition 2 tests ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity on 720 answers. Asked the same question three times, the assistants gave a different list of firms almost every time.
BOCA RATON, Fla. - s4story -- Correction: an earlier version of this release, issued October 8, reported that 83% of firms were never named and that Google reviews did not predict AI recommendations. Both figures came from an undercount in our extraction step. The corrected figures are below, and the full correction is in the report linked at the end.
CitationOS today released Edition 2 of its South Florida Personal Injury AI Visibility Index, which measures which law firms AI assistants name when people ask who to call after an accident. Of the 283 personal injury firms Google Maps shows across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, 157 (55%) were not named a single time by any of the four assistants tested.
CitationOS asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity 60 questions that injury victims ask, three times each with web search enabled, for 720 answers.

Key findings:
- The answers are unstable. Asked the same question three times, the same assistant gave a different set of firms in 193 of 195 cases.
- The assistants disagree. Of the 126 local firms named, 32 were named by all four assistants and 42 by only one.
- Reviews help but are not enough. Firms named in 20 or more answers had a median of 282 Google reviews, against 52 for firms never named. Some firms with around 1,000 reviews were named in four or fewer answers.
- Perplexity cited a legal directory in every answer where it showed sources.
"More of the people law firms want to reach are asking an AI assistant, and the assistant answers with a short list that changes from one ask to the next," said Kivanc Acikgoz, founder of CitationOS. "Checking once tells a firm very little. You have to measure it repeatedly."
