SAN ANTONIO - s4story -- Bath by Design SA and David Montelongo Help Local Veteran Family Create an Accessible, Luxury Bathroom Through VA HISA Grant

San Antonio, TX – November 1, 2025 – Bath by Design SA, led by real estate expert and builder David Montelongo, recently completed a heartfelt renovation for local veterans Jack and Graciela Calentine. The project was made possible through the VA's Home Improvements and Structural Alterations (HISA) Benefit, which provides over $6,000 in financial assistance for medically necessary home improvements.

The HISA Benefit helps veterans fund accessibility renovations such as roll-in showers, lowered counters, widened doorways, and improved plumbing for medical needs. To qualify, veterans must be enrolled in the VA Health Care System, obtain a VA physician's prescription, and submit VA Form 10-0103 to their local VA Medical Center's Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS).
