~ Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington has recently announced the launch of its 2025 Local-Motion Grant Program, aimed at promoting pedestrian and bicycle mobility within the city. This grant program offers support to community projects that seek to improve walking and biking infrastructure and culture in Bloomington.

In partnership with the Transportation Commission, the program encourages initiatives that promote community engagement and education on sustainable transportation. It is a crucial part of the city's larger efforts to enhance Bloomington's walking and biking culture.

Previous recipients of the grant include the Bloomington Community Bike Project, which received funding for a bicycle maintenance station, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington, which used their grant to establish a kid's bike club. The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) also received funding for a bike lending program for adult students.

Eligible organizations can submit one project application per year with a maximum grant award of $2,400 per project. Nonprofit organizations, neighborhood associations, and local businesses are all welcome to apply with creative and impactful projects that support active transportation.

The application window for 2025 is now open, with a deadline of Monday, November 3rd. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the program guidelines and submit their proposals through the online application process.
