Colorado Springs: Last chance to experience Motorless Morning this year
S For Story/10673827
~ On October 5th, the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department will be hosting its final Motorless Morning event of the season in Garden of the Gods Park. This special event will eliminate motor vehicle access within the park from 5 a.m. to noon.
As always, the park will be free and open to the public during this time. However, visitors should be aware that park rules and regulations, including speed limits, will still apply. Skateboards and longboards are welcome on park roads, but designated slow zones and one-way traffic will be in place to ensure safety for all.
Pedestrians are encouraged to walk on the right side of the road, leaving the left side open for cyclists and passing. For those who need assistance getting around the park, designated parking for persons with disabilities is available at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. From there, a shuttle into the main parking lot will be available upon request during Motorless Morning.

Visitors can also choose to park their vehicles at either the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center or Garden of the Gods Trading Post in Manitou Springs. Additionally, Parking Lot 1 at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (located at the corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road) will also be available for parking.
For those who choose to park at Parking Lot 1, a shuttle into the main parking lot will be available upon request from 7 AM to 12 PM on Motorless Morning. This is to accommodate guests who may need assistance getting around.
The City has also made accommodations for individuals with disabilities by permitting the use of other power-driven mobility devices (OPDMD) in accordance with its OPDMD policy. All visitors will have access to accessible routes throughout the park.
This final Motorless Morning event is a great opportunity for visitors to enjoy Garden of the Gods Park without any motor vehicle traffic. So mark your calendars for October 5th and come experience the beauty of this park in a peaceful and environmentally-friendly way.
