Published memoirist leaves a candid literary legacy exploring identity, addiction, recovery, aging, resilience, and reinvention

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - s4story -- DonnaInk Publications and its 2nd Spirit Imprint extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, readers, and life partner of Christopher Duquette, following news of his passing in March 2026.

DonnaInk Publications learned of Christopher's passing only recently and was deeply saddened. Publisher Quesinberry remembers Christopher not only as an author, but as someone with whom she shared lengthy conversations, publishing experiences and, ultimately, friendship.

"Christopher was a welcomed member of the DonnaInk Publications family and became someone I considered a good friend," Quesinberry says. "Our conversations were rarely brief. Christopher took tremendous pride in moving beyond a period when addiction adversely affected his life and livelihood. I admired the honesty with which he put those experiences on the page."

Although the two had lost touch in recent years, the news brought renewed appreciation for their friendship.

"Time changes the importance we assign to old distances and disagreements. Whatever caused people to grow apart can seem unimportant when there is no longer an opportunity for another conversation. I am sincerely grateful to Christopher's partner, Storm Orion, for reaching out and letting me know of his passing."

About Christopher Duquette
Born in Northern California in 1958 and raised in Upstate New York, Christopher attended SUNY Stony Brook before moving to Manhattan. He spent more than two decades within New York City's nightlife culture while pursuing a corporate career. He later sought a new beginning in the Hudson Valley, and his memoirs documented identity, addiction, recovery, reinvention, aging, and resilience.

His candid writing transformed difficult lived experiences into memoirs chronicling turbulence, survival, and reinvention.

DonnaInk Publications intends to preserve Christopher's literary legacy by keeping his titles available through its catalog in perpetuity.

"Authors leave us something remarkably personal. They leave their words," Quesinberry says. "Christopher wrote honestly about where he had been, what he survived and how he rebuilt. Those pages remain. Readers who never experienced one of our wonderfully long conversations can still meet Christopher through his books."

DonnaInk Publications and the 2nd Spirit Imprint extend sincere condolences to Christopher's family, friends, readers, and especially his longtime partner, Storm Orion.
