Indira Johnson, sophomore at University of Massachusetts - Boston and future nurse, wins scholarship
BOSTON - s4story -- Electives, a Boston-based company making great learning more accessible by bringing the world's experts – both the known and the unknown – into people's lives, today announced the recipient of the annual Learning Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Electives is giving Indira Joseph, a sophomore at University of Massachusetts - Boston, a $1,000 scholarship to cover books and supplies.
"The Electives team believes learning should never end, so we're excited to support a local student in his continued learning journey," said Jason Lavender, Co-Founder and CEO of Electives. "As Electives grows to support more enterprise clients, including local companies like Mainstay and Embark Veterinary and national brands like Puma and Zynga, we are focused on delivering learning people love from people they never forget. But we want to make sure we also give back to our Boston community. The first annual Electives Learning Scholarship is just one part of our plan to make learning more accessible."

Electives invited incoming and currently enrolled college students attending a list of Boston-based higher education institutions to apply for the Electives Learning Scholarship. The application process asked students to share a story about a person in their life who inspired them to love learning.
"Thank you so much to the Electives team for helping me continue to achieve my goals and get closer to having my dreams become a reality," Electives scholarship winner Indira Joseph commented. "With the upcoming school year, I am looking forward to taking prerequisite classes needed for the Accelerated Nursing program that is offered at my university. These classes, along with the Electives scholarship, will help me work towards my goals of becoming a nurse."
Leveraging its proprietary learning platform, Electives is connecting employees to unique teachers, including professional athletes, FBI agents, top professors, social justice advocates and more. Its founders, Jason Lavender and CTO Krikor Dzeronian, believe great teachers can be life changing, and they built Electives to help organizations across the U.S. facilitate learning experiences that are immediately impactful and unforgettable.
