~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Stacy Hightower and reappointed Donald "Donnie" Lewis, Donna Montemayor, and Richard "Rick" Tisch to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Their terms are set to expire on August 31, 2031.

The Texas State Board of Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality pharmaceutical care to the citizens of Texas. They also regulate the practice of pharmacy in accordance with the highest standards of ethics, accountability, efficiency, effectiveness, and openness.

Stacy Hightower, a resident of Aubrey, has been appointed as a member of the board. She is a certified pharmacy technician and currently works at Las Colinas Pharmacy, Compounding, and Wellness in Irving. Hightower is also a member of various organizations such as the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding Board of Directors, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, and the National Pharmacy Technician Association. In addition to her professional commitments, she is an active volunteer with Irving Cares and Habitat for Humanity. Hightower pursued her education at Angelo State University.

Donald "Donnie" Lewis from Athens has been reappointed to the board. With over 40 years of experience in hospital and community pharmacy, Lewis brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He has also owned two pharmacies during his career. Apart from his work in the pharmaceutical industry, Lewis also operates a wedding and event venue and holds a real estate license. He has previously served as a member of Athens City Council and Mayor Pro-Tem. Lewis is also involved in philanthropic work through organizations like Pendulum Project Culinary Program and medical mission trips to Africa, Peru, and Ecuador. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Science from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.

Donna Montemayor from San Antonio has been appointed as vice president on the board. She currently serves as vice president at HEB where she oversees Pharmacy Professional Services, Marketing, Technology, and New Business. Montemayor is a member of various pharmacy associations such as the Texas Pharmacy Association, Bexar County Pharmacy Association, and the American Pharmacists Association. She is also the vice president of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. In addition to her professional commitments, Montemayor is actively involved in her community as a member of the UT College of Pharmacy Dean's Advisory Council and secretary of the UT College of Pharmacy Alumni Association. She also serves as a faculty practitioner at the UT College of Pharmacy and is a residency preceptor for the UT/HEB Community Residency program. Montemayor holds a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy with honors from UT Austin.

Richard "Rick" Tisch from Spring has been appointed as regional vice president on the board. He is a member of the Southwest Business Association and has previously served as a coach for Special Olympics. Tisch has also been a gubernatorial appointee on the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UT Austin with a focus on management and marketing.
