RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - s4story -- HamletHub is proud to announce that acclaimed contributor Ira Joe Fisher has earned First Place in the 2024 Connecticut Press Club Communications Contest for his evocative and locally inspired poetry series, P-06877-etry, published weekly on Ridgefield HamletHub.
Fisher's award-winning series won in the Short Story Collection category, standing out among entries from across the state. With both video and digital components, P-06877-etry draws readers and viewers in through lyrical rhythm, striking cadence, and the unmistakable voice of a seasoned storyteller. His poetry is filmed and shared from beloved Ridgefield locales, offering a tapestry of place, memory, and meaning that resonates throughout the community.
This recognition also qualifies P-06877-etry for a national award through the National Federation of Press Women.
"In ancient times a poet would be presented with a laurel wreath to acknowledge the poems from the pen. Connecticut Press Club, you have acknowledged my weekly poem on my beloved HamletHub.
