Legal Espionage Allegations Erupt Around Ricardo Salinas's UK Advisors Amid US $400 Million Commercial Dispute

Covert Recordings
Serious allegations of espionage and misconduct have been leveled against billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego and on extensive team of UK-based legal professionals, in connection with what Astor Asset Management 3 Ltd describes as a "covert intelligence operation" designed to undermine the defense, interfere with lawyer client representation and the rule of law, in an ongoing US $400 million civil dispute.

LONDON - s4story -- At the center of the storm is a covert recording obtained through Black Cube, an Israeli private intelligence agency run by former Mossad spy agency, which allegedly used fake names, manipulation, and alcohol-fueled entrapment to secretly record a solicitor aligned with Val Sklarov and Astor Asset Management 3 Ltd. That recording was later submitted in court proceedings as evidence by Salinas's legal representatives.

Enyo Law LLP, formally on record as acting for Mr. Salinas, is reported to have worked alongside LK Law LLP, whose representative Mr. Andrew John Ford was actively engaged in the litigation. In formal submissions, Astor accuses both firms and their extended legal teams of relying on and weaponizing evidence unlawfully obtained through deception and violations of legal professional privilege. Astor accuses Mr Salinas lawyers of perverting the course of justice and perjury, by continuously lying to UK court as to facts of the case.

Astor's representatives assert that these individuals were either, committed perjury  by laying to court as to contents of the loan agreement, or directly involved in deploying the recordings or are implicated in the surrounding legal process in conspiring with Black Cube to engage in the unlawful conduct. "When lawyers lie to the court and withhold material facts, the  litigation teams knowingly attempt to benefit from spy-craft and present such material to a British court, they threaten the very legitimacy of UK justice system," an Astor spokesperson said.

Formal complaints have been lodged with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the Bar Standards Board (BSB), the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and Astor has submitted petitions to both the Justice Committee of the House of Commons and the Constitution Committee of the House of Lords. The petitions call for a public inquiry into what the company claims is the misuse of private espionage in civil proceedings and a systemic failure to uphold legal privilege.

The case at the center of the controversy involves a complex rehypothecation agreement that Salinas now claims resulted in a fraudulent loss of over US $400 million. Mr Val Sklarov maintains the matter is purely contractual and denies any criminal wrongdoing, asserting that Salinas is recharacterizing a civil business default to avoid financial responsibility.

Astor has filed a counterclaim against Mr Salinas for US $350 million and assets that Mr Salinas and his legal team are lying and committing perjury upon the UK court.

As scrutiny mounts, legal commentators warn that allowing such recordings into evidence, or lying to court, sets a dangerous precedent—effectively sanctioning the use of spy tactics in commercial litigation.
