Little Tiger Children's Book Series Instills Core Life Values Sourced from Taekwondo
S For Story/10398208
COLUMBUS, Ohio - s4story -- A new picture book series authored by Olivia Dybik and Steve Doherty is devoted to helping kids learn core life values, such as respect, discipline, and self-control. The first book of their series entitled Little Tigers—Respect will be available from Amazon on November 17, 2019.
"A respectful child accepts someone for who they are, even if they're different from them," say authors Olivia Dybik and Steve Doherty.
Today's children face many challenges, including criticism, hostility, shame, and ridicule. As a consequence, they tend to lack confidence and suffer from low self-esteem. The authors, experienced Taekwondo instructors, have observed these factors at work among their students.
The philosophy of Taekwondo is unique – it teaches students not to start or get into a fight. The practitioners are thus trained to become a Guardian of Peace and avoid physical altercations altogether. The Little Tigers series will not only help improve reading skills in young children but also teach ten fundamental principles: guardian of peace (never start a fight), respect, discipline, confidence, self-control, persistence, courage, compassion, integrity, and indomitable spirit (resilience).

"We have written the Little Tiger Book Series to help young children understand and comprehend the fundamental principles we teach in Taekwondo and to make reading more fun and enjoyable," said Olivia Dybik and Steve Doherty.
The book adopts that oriental philosophy, which considers an outward display of respect as a sign of strength rather than a weakness. When children learn respect, the principle is seen in action in many ways, from saying 'Thank you' to 'Yes, ma'am' or 'No, ma'am.'
The authors' mission with writing the Little Tigers series is to create well-crafted picture books that teach valuable life lessons. They envision changing one life at a time by teaching children to internalize life principles and help them live happy and productive lives.
