Physician shares what he learned during a 45-year care partnership with his wife
GREEN BAY, Wis. - s4story -- Orthopedic surgeon Rolf Lulloff's new book, Living and Loving with Parkinson's Disease: Our Partnership Through a 45-Year Journey (M&B Global Solutions Inc.), is now available as an audio book on Audible and Amazon. The book enjoyed a strong release period as a paperback and e-book in its first month, consistently earning the Top New Release designation in the Parkinson's category on Amazon.
Professional narrator Marcus Freeman delivers an engaging read as Dr. Rolf shares an intimate look into the love story that he and his late wife, Annie, experienced in navigating their long-term care partnership. Care persons, spouses, and extended family and friends will benefit from the tips and care suggestions Dr. Rolf compiled from his front-row seat to the ever-changing road that was Annie's battle with Parkinson's disease.
"The loving journey that Rolf and Annie Lulloff traveled together should be a model for all families dealing with Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative diseases," states Lisa McHale, director of Legacy Family Relations for the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

Annie's challenges began well before her official Parkinson's diagnosis
The Lulloffs were entering an exciting stage of life in 1976 when the first signs of health issues that lie ahead for Annie began to emerge soon after they moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, with their young family. She experienced a sudden loss of sense of smell, severe anxiety attacks, vision issues, and other neurological challenges prior to her Parkinson's diagnosis on New Year's Eve, 1989.
Rolf and Annie were determined to keep living active and involved lives. They developed a special relationship as care partners over the next thirty-one years until Annie's passing in 2021. Their commitment to experiencing all that life has to offer strengthened their bond and established them as examples for others going through similar journeys.
"The sense of despair that often accompanies the loss of control from Parkinson's can be overwhelming," explains Ann McKee, MD, director of the Boston University CTE Center and UNITE brain bank. "Rolf and Annie Lulloff are great examples of how focusing on love and resilience makes it possible to enjoy a fulfilling quality of life."
