NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. - s4story -- MahoganyBooks will celebrate its annual Black Books Matter Day at National Harbor in Prince George's County, Maryland, on August 6, 2022. Black Books Matter Day was proclaimed annually on the first Saturday of August in Prince George's County by Angela Alsobrooks, Prince George's County Executive. Black Books Matter day will commemorate on August 6 at 1:00 p.m. with a reading of the Black Books Matter Day Proclamation and a specially commissioned poem by author Jason Reynold recognizing the day. There will also be a book signing with Dr. Avis Jones DeWeever, author of "How Exceptional Black Women Lead," at 1:30 p.m. The Prince George's County Memorial Library System will be on hand to distribute library cards to all those interested.
