Supporting Future U.S. Market Access
CPT codes provide a standardised language for reporting medical procedures and support the submission of claims to third-party payers. Following the necessary FDA clearance, healthcare providers may use the applicable codes to report treatments, subject to payer policies, coverage decisions, medical necessity requirements and other reimbursement conditions.
Mary McGovern, CEO of Adtec Healthcare, said: "Having CPT Category III codes for microwave cold argon plasma wound therapy provides an important foundation for the future use of this technology in the United States. It is a significant milestone as we continue to progress our regulatory and commercialisation strategy."
Adtec Healthcare partnered with PRIA Healthcare, a medical device reimbursement, market access and regulatory consultancy, to support the CPT code application and advance its coverage and reimbursement strategy.
