Mid-America College of Health Sciences: Affordable Healthcare Training for Professionals
S For Story/10695873
MERRIAM, Kan. - s4story -- Mid-America College of Health Sciences (MACOHS) is a Merriam, Kansas-based school – located at 10000 West 75th Street, Suite 241 – offering top-notch, affordable training year-round for healthcare professionals, with in-depth and diverse course offerings led by experienced and knowledgeable instructors.
Formerly known as the Mid-America Nursing & Allied-Health Institute, the school's President & Founder, Dr. Susan N. Omare, said that she changed its name several years ago to reflect the expansion and evolution of its curriculum – including the incorporation of nursing programs – to reflect the growing number of in-demand careers in the medical field.
Since opening in 2016, MACOHS has trained thousands of students in allied health (EKG, Phlebotomy, and Medical Assistants), pre-nursing and nursing (Medication Aides, Nurse Aides, and Practical Nurses), dental auxiliary (Dental Assistants), general education (Anatomy & Physiology, Growth & Development, and Medical Terminology), and continuing education (CMA Update, CNA Refresher, and CPR).

A Nigerian immigrant, Dr. Omare said that she takes pride in making a difference in the community, serving students not only in Kansas but – as the school's reputation has grown – all over the country as well.
Another aspect of MACOHS' growth into a full-fledged institution of higher learning as bestowed on it by the Kansas Board of Regents, MACOHS is now in the ".edu" domain website in 2022, which requires strict institutional accreditation; MACOHS is poised to achieve national or regional accreditation in the future.
Achieving a national accreditation status will position MACOHS to continue its expansion to offer more higher education program, enable MACOHS to become eligible to provide federal financial aid for qualified students, ensuring that monetary barriers will not prevent someone seeking higher education, or a career in the healthcare industry from getting the education they need.
Since MACOHS opened, it has earned a stellar reputation for producing highly qualified healthcare professionals who have gone on to work in various fields. The goal is to continue to provide quality training using our 'We C.A.R.E. Model - We teach with Compassion; We provide Accessible career paths; We Reaffirm integrity; We uphold Excellence. We are a STUDENT-CENTERED institute that provides high-quality-educational programs to confident healthcare professionals who will leave a lasting IMPACT on our COMMUNITIES.
