Written by Local Author Hunter Cambon, "Howard the Coward" Encourages Young Readers to Think Logically About Their Fears Amid Active Imaginations
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - s4story -- Today, Inspirebytes Omni Media announces the release of a new children's book, Howard the Coward, written by Ft. Lauderdale-based former educator and author Hunter Cambon and illustrated by London-based artist Patrick Laurent. After waking up thirsty in the middle of the night, Howard must brave the darkness to fetch a glass of water from the kitchen. While creeping through the house to avoid waking his family, Howard conjures threats around every corner. However, by relying on observation to balance his overactive imagination, Howard is able to overcome his fears to secure a glass of water and return to his room for a peaceful night of sleep.
For young children, the world can be a scary place, but the medium of fiction can allow them to learn about regulating their fears in a safe and supportive environment. As Cambon says, "I hope this book helps children identify their fears and move past them gracefully." Beautifully illustrated and written in rhyme that's perfect for read-alouds, Howard the Coward teaches children the value of courage and perseverance.
