SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. - s4story -- South Seas Resort invites guests to mark America's 250th birthday in style with its annual Star-Spangled Celebration, a multi-day Fourth of July extravaganza set for July 3–6 on Captiva Island. The celebration activities are open to registered South Seas guests and owners with Club Captiva membership. The festivities span four days and offer something for every member of the family, from patriotic lawn games and live music to a spectacular fireworks show over Sunset Beach.
The celebration kicks off Friday, July 3, with a full slate of activities throughout the resort. Highlights include a Hydro Battle on the Bayview Lawn, face painting and balloon animals at the Bayview Pool, and an afternoon of live music poolside. The evening turns festive with the Red, White and BBQ at The Clutch from 5–8 p.m., featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, specialty cocktails and live music, followed by Glow Golf, a Silent Disco and s'mores to close out the night.
The Fourth of July brings the celebration to its peak. Guests can start the morning with a Breakfast Buffet at the Beach House or a Bloody Mary Bar at Tarpon Bar before joining a Watermelon Eating Contest on the Bayview Lawn, live music at the Bayview Pool, and a Patriotic T-Shirt Tie Dye activity. A Sip & Shop at The Shops at South Seas runs from 2–4 p.m. and is open to the general public. The afternoon culminates in a festive Golf Cart Parade from the Conference Center to the East Lawn at 5 p.m. — with décor packages available for purchase at South Seas Cart Rentals. The marquee event, the America 250 Star Spangled Celebration, lights up Sunset Beach from 6–9:30 p.m. with a DJ, lawn games, waterslides, sparklers, face painting and prizes, followed by a grand fireworks display at 9 p.m.
