Stevens Construction completes Thrive Academy renovation
S For Story/10706194
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - s4story -- Stevens Construction has completed a renovation of Thrive Academy for Family Initiative, announced Joseph Cimilluca, special projects division manager, Stevens Construction.
In six months, Stevens Construction's special projects team renovated an existing 7,824-square-foot building on Family Initiative's Thrive Academy campus located at 3221 Chiquita Blvd. in Cape Coral. By completely gutting the building and reconfiguring the floor plan, Thrive Academy is expanding educational opportunities for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The renovated building includes seven classrooms, a staff childcare room, a STEM lab, sensory room and offices.
Thrive Academy is part of Family Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with ASD and their families through education, therapy and support, giving them the best opportunity to thrive.

"This renovation will allow Family Initiative to support an additional 100 students across our community. The design and construction of these spaces is unique to ensure the sensory needs are met for every student. The Stevens Construction team has gone above and beyond to ensure the work is meticulous for our families. The renovation work is being done on the same campus where our students are currently in school, so the entire team has an opportunity to see the direct impact of the work. From Mark, to the project manager, to the subcontracted providers on site, Stevens has ensured a fantastic experience for our team and our families," David Brown, president, Family Initiative.
The Stevens Construction team includes Special Projects Manager Zach Mascarelli, Special Projects Superintendent Jessie Sema and Special Projects Administrator Kelly Escorcia. The project was designed by Studio+.
