TECNA to Unveil Cerbero Multi-Process Welding Machine at Automechanika Frankfurt

S For Story/10702091
The new 230 V system combines three independently fed MIG torches with pulsed MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA welding capabilities, providing greater flexibility and simplifying equipment changeovers in automotive workshops.

CASTEL S. PIETRO TERME, Italy - s4story -- TECNA will unveil Cerbero, its new multi-process welding machine, at Automechanika Frankfurt, taking place from 8 to 12 September. Developed for automotive bodyshops and repair workshops, the new system brings together three MIG welding torches, pulsed MIG/MAG operation, TIG welding and MMA welding in a single machine.

Named after Cerberus, the three-headed figure from Greek mythology, Cerbero features a distinctive three-torch configuration for MIG welding. Each torch is connected to an independent wire-feeding unit, allowing operators to keep multiple compatible wire configurations ready for use and move more quickly between different welding tasks without repeatedly replacing wire spools or torches.

The configuration addresses an important requirement in modern bodyshops, where different materials, consumables and welding applications may need to be handled using the same workstation. By simplifying the transition between MIG welding configurations, Cerbero can reduce preparation time and streamline the workshop workflow.

Cerbero supports MIG/MAG welding with pulsed-arc operation, offering a flexible solution for a wide range of automotive repair and fabrication requirements. Pulsed MIG/MAG can provide greater control over heat input and help reduce spatter, making it particularly suitable for applications involving thin sheet metal.

Designed to be versatile and straightforward to operate, Cerbero is suitable for both small repair jobs and more demanding welding projects.

The TIG torch supports applications requiring greater control, accuracy and finish quality. The MMA electrode holder further extends the machine's versatility, broadening the range of welding tasks that can be carried out using the same system.

Cerbero operates from a 230 V single-phase power supply. It provides an adjustment range of 15 to 200 A for MIG/MAG and MMA welding, increasing to 15 to 220 A in TIG mode. At maximum output, the machine offers a 45% duty cycle measured at an ambient temperature of 40°C.

For MIG/MAG applications, Cerbero is compatible with steel wires in diameters of 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 mm, stainless-steel wires of 0.8 and 1.0 mm, and 1.0 mm aluminium wire. Its three independently fed MIG torches allow different compatible wire configurations to remain available on the same machine, supporting faster transitions between welding applications.

Visitors to Automechanika Frankfurt will be able to see Cerbero at TECNA's Stand D25 in Hall 11.0. The TECNA team will be available throughout the event to present the machine's multi-process capabilities and discuss its potential applications in automotive repair and bodyshop operations.
