The Excelsior Lions Club Kicks Off the Second Annual "Christmas in Excelsior" with Christmas in July

Excelsior, MN – July 31, 2026 — The Excelsior Lions Club started the holiday season early with a "Christmas in Excelsior in July" boat cruise hosted by Paradise Charter Cruises. The boat set sail on the evening of July 26, as a thank you celebration for the valuable sponsors who lend their support to this annual event.

The cruise featured holiday decor, complete with Christmas trees and swag, red and green holiday cocktails, live ukulele music, and even a fully dressed Santa, who persevered through the 99° temperatures.

The cruise was catered by Old Southern BBQ, and guests were greeted with green and red leis and a snow machine, a welcome site during the heat! It was a festive atmosphere for all who attended.

Christmas in Excelsior will return for its second year on November 27–28, 2026. This free, family-friendly event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Water Street in downtown Excelsior.

Event Highlights:
Holiday Market: A curated selection of handmade goods and specialty vendors
Santa Experiences: Opportunities to meet and take photos with Santa
Carriage Rides: Enjoy a horse-drawn ride along the banks of Lake Minnetonka
Live Animals: Featuring reindeer, llamas, and huskies
Entertainment: Live holiday music with roaming performers and carolers
Food & Drink: Seasonal treats and warm beverages from the many food vendors
Fire Dancing: Finish the day with a captivating performance by a professional fire dancer
