The work explores the emotional and atmospheric qualities of woodland through colour, motion, and texture.

The Soul of Violet Trees presents a forest transformed into flowing vertical forms, where recognisable trees dissolve into layered strokes of violet and amethyst. Rather than documenting a specific place, the artwork focuses on sensation and presence, using movement and colour to evoke stillness, reflection, and inward attention.

The image was created through a slow vertical camera movement during exposure, allowing natural forms to blur into painterly structures. Colour plays a central role in the work. Deep violet, lavender, and muted amethyst tones dominate the composition, creating a subdued palette associated with dusk and transitional light.
